In Anticipation

A Cold Winter’s Christmas

A wind whips

and wraps around,

Its cold claws grip

and a chill surrounds.

Coats and jackets,

scarves and gloves,

stars and blankets,

bundled, in love.

Fires are crackling

and people surround,

jingle bells jingling,

it carries – the sound

to a row of green trees

that stand in neat rows.

People looking on, pleased,

give them nice, warm homes.

The morning arrives,

and children are restless.

The world settles in

for a cold, winter’s Christmas.

by, my darling, Justin
