Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done,
in earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Sometimes I think about how Justin and I’s situation would be depicted by the world and culture today ::
We are very poor newlyweds,
with part time jobs,
renting an old house,
driving an old car
and working towards each new pay check with great need.
Thinking about how it would be described has convinced me thoroughly how blessed we are.
When Justin and I are older, we’ll tell our kids about our first year(s) of marriage, when we lived in a house from the 70’s, when we drove our first little car made in 1994, and when at times would get down to less than $100 at the end of a month,
and then we’ll tell them how grateful we were to be able to be married
and how God was providing us with so many things.
How we never went hungry,
how we had a sturdy roof over our heads,
how we had things we wanted as well as what we needed,
how we worked hard to provide for our little family and be wise about our choices,
and how every day God blessed us over and over again.
It’s interesting to think that we are right now living the stories we will tell later.
Thinking on that makes me want to live them really well,
to remember to thank God for everything He’s given us
not in hopes that He’ll give us more
but because we’re thankful for what we have
to be happy
to not be nervous or worried
to walk by faith
this is the life.
It certainly is scary to walk by faith.
It is the first time I’ve personally done so with the full knowledge that it is my only choice.
It is also exciting,
exciting to see when God will provide next,
exciting to see how God will provide next.
These are exciting and uncertain times, my friends.
I can’t believe how fortunate I am to get to experience them!!
“for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
